Red and White/Our World

Houseboat on the Trent-Severn Canal

Today is Canada Day! It's Canada's 146th birthday. And many of us are celebrating!

In the first photo (taken on Saturday) a family was already celebrating aboard a houseboat touring the Trent-Severn Canal System that goes between Lake Ontario and Lake Huron, two of the Great Lakes. Wow! A house with a slide into the water!

Packing the canoe, also on the Trent-Severn on Saturday

Other families like to rough it so, like this family, will likely spend the weekend  paddling and camping.

Fishing on Lake Scugog

Fishing sounds like a fun way to relax, don't you think? This weekend after a day out on the water, these guys may be sleeping in their own comfy beds at night.

Red and white float plane

A few Canadians may start off on the water but then take to the air.

Antique red Ford

And perhaps one family will be seen tootling about town in their shiny red Ford.

What a cool idea to have a slide on a houseboat! Red and white are such striking colors and as you have shown easy to see by land, sea and air. :)

Happy Canada Day EG, excellent series of red and white images to celebrate the day, I wouldn't mind cruisin' in the shiny red Ford myself :)

Happy Canada Day!
We consider ourselves "honorary Canadians" .. since we live closer to Canada than to any U.S. metro, and since we are property owners & tax payers in northern Ontario.
Wish we were there! Not until a little later this summer, though.

There was an article in the paper this week about that couple paddling across Canada with 2 wee kids. They are incredible. Great that you caught them!
